Serafima Banko
A Slavic writer and poet needed a home for her books that reads like the first page of a fairy tale.
Turn an author into a world
Serafima Banko writes prose and poetry rooted in Slavic myth and her own spiritual practice. Readers come for the books and stay for the voice behind them.
The site had to introduce the author, let visitors hear her in her own words and lead them to the books without feeling like a shop.
Idea
- A night from a legend Mountains, a golden moon and a city growing out of an open book set the scene.
- Runes in the sky Slavic symbols glow in the smoke above the first screen, like a spell being written.
- Her voice first An audio greeting from the author sits right on the first screen.
- Books close at hand A small cart in the corner keeps the books one step away on every page.
A reader's first chapter
The site works like the opening of one of her stories: atmosphere first, the author next, and the books follow naturally.
